George Metz

George Metz is a dynamic professional development coach with two decades of experience across the non-profit, public, and private sectors. He provides a broad spectrum of services to professionals and students navigating various challenges and transitions. George holds a B.A. in Psychology from NC Central University and an M.S. in Leadership with a concentration in Human Resource Management from Northeastern University. He is completing requirements for the NC State LCOP program and is a candidate for ICF ACC certification. He credits his understanding of care and empathy, a competitive advantage in the marketplace, to being raised by his mother, a registered nurse.
In 2013, George began his six-year tenure with Communities In Schools, Charlotte-Mecklenburg, serving as the Adjudicated Youth Reentry Coordinator at West Charlotte High School. He applied social capital principles to support his students, and in his last two years at CIS, he built and evolved the Social Capital platform as the inaugural Social Capital Team Lead. This experience deepened George’s expertise in social connectedness and community cohesion, igniting his passion for helping organizations, communities, and individuals achieve their full potential.
TIn 2019, he founded Synergy Emerge, LLC, allowing him to train, equip, and build strategies for individuals and organizations aiming to cultivate and sustain diverse relationships. Through his consultancy, George has provided valuable insights, training, and coaching on connectivity concepts to organizations such as the City of Charlotte, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, Communities In Schools NC, and Bank of America, as well as projects for clients like the Brookings Institution.
George is also the founder of Connectivity Uncapped, a leadership coaching program dedicated to developing high-achieving, pioneering professionals who serve as inspiration and role models within their communities, showing that higher levels of professional success are attainable. Beyond his professional endeavors, George is an active leader at Life Center International East, where his wife, Maya, also serves as a leader. Together, they are proud parents of three daughters.
